I built a local-first personal finance tracker — no cloud, no account, one SQLite file. Open source, looking for contributors.

This certainly isn't unique, but I hope to make it useful for me and anybody else who wishes to join in. The reason I'm posting it is because someone else posted theirs (which actually looked very similar to this one), but many people asked them to make it open source. It runs on your own computer: you sync through SimpleFIN, or optionally import CSV/OFX files from your bank, and everything stays in a single SQLite file you control. Happy to add the plaid connector too. What it does: • Recognizes common bank exports automatically, and learns new ones with a mapping wizard • Dedupes, links transfers between your accounts, and cleans up merchant names • Rule-based categorization plus a fast keyboard review queue • Detects bills and paychecks; budget with a "safe to spend until payday" number • Net worth, debt payoff, cash-flow forecast, and alerts for double charges and other unusual activity A little bit of context on how much I've done with it; this is not my first project with Claude, I've spent about 1% of time working on this compared to the time I've spent building a Project Management solution called SubMark for our multi-family & commercial contracting company. The reason I say that it to let you know that it no doubt has a lot of room for improvement and new ideas. Everything up to this point has been built with Claude, with initial prompts of asking it to research mainstream finance apps and others that it may have been built by individuals. From there, prompts to help tailor it's functions to what I was looking for. I have not spent a lot of time in other mainstream finance apps, but what I wanted was the ability to make it my own, and also have the ability to eventually fold it into a personal home dashboard, similar to a Skylight.
